12 Days of Service and Tradition: Day 5

Service
This idea isn't specific to Christmas, but it it specific to this Christmas with our family. Tonight we will celebrate the end of Patrick's semester with an appreciation night. Afton, Abel and I are so grateful that Patrick's busts it at school and at work so that I can stay home with the kiddies and so that we can get the heck out of Richmond soon with brighter job prospects. Our Christmas celebration officially begins tonight. We're having taco's, one of Patrick's favorite dinners. Afton is making him a special card and I'm going to give him a much earned massage. Celebrating someone in your family is certain to bring yuletide joy to you!

Tradition
I don't do too much baking for Christmas. But I do love decorating sugar cookies with my family. Afton and I spent our afternoon mixing dough and baking snowflakes, stockings, snowman and stars. Can't wait to decorate them after the celebration dinner tonight! I love eating them the day after when everything has gone soft and a bit stale. Yum!!
