Fellow bargain lover, Lindsey, asked me to post tips for shopping on eBay. Here are a few things that have made my eBay experiences work so well:
1. Research your desired item's "real" price and compare it to the price it is selling on eBay. Make sure once shipping is included, your total bid price is less than the retail price. If
2. Decide how much you want to spend on your item, make the bid then walk away. If you win, great! If not, there will ALWAYS be another auction.
3. Make time for purchasing your item. If you need/want it NOW, you should probably just go buy it. You are more likely to increase your bid price to capture the item, and it may not be a bargain then.
4. Read seller's feedback before you bid. I prefer to buy from individuals rather than eBay stores because it's personal. I find prices are better and problems are minimal this way.
5. eBay is not for everything. The bad experiences I have had on eBay have all been with technology items. If a deal sounds/feels too good to be true, it is. Save your pennies and buy the real thing.
6. Bargains should be worth your time and money. Don't bid on an item just for the sake of getting a great deal. Buy quality and buy what you want.

Thanks, Lizzy! I really do appreciate the tips.
I'd add another one...no whining in posts about the price of something you buy. If you bid on it at a crappy price or insane shipping prices then that's your fault keep the comment boxes to legitimate problems or praises only...that way we can find the nice ebayers easier :)
But great points from you!
Hi Liz! I hope you don't mind me posting here - I got the link to your blog from Laura's and it's just too fun to see what old friends are up to.
So - My Ebay question - when you are selling, what day do you think is most effective to schedule auctions to end on?
Keeping my eye open for brown boots for you - any specifications of what you are looking for and size? :)
thanks so much, I have been hesitant to try it, but may use it to purchase Josh's Yankee bedding...that is what he wants from Santa....of course, keep the tips coming : )
