I must admit that as a renter, I gave little thought to being nice to counter tops (or drains, carpet, walls, electricity, etc). But now that I own my counter tops, I am polite and happy to behave so. I thought up this little trick on my very own, a unique thing because I usually get great ideas from people or magazines. FOIL UNDER THE WAFFLE MAKER!! Makes clean up a snap and shows the counters respect. Saturday mornings are a little bit happier now.

Now THAT is a great idea. Sometimes I have seen where waffle irons and other appliances can even melt the counter top.
I'm doing this next time I make waffles!
I totally think that when I finally own the carpet we walk I will turn into the people who don't want shoes inside the house. We won't even use the countertops- those will be off limits. prepare your food on the floor, please. ;-)

I'm making my house made of stainless steel so I can just hose it all off when I'm done each day.
The toilet might cause some problems though :D
