every woman needs a wife

My mother-in-law is always saying that every woman needs a wife to help with chores, errands, cooking, etc. This couldn't be more true for me this week! If this scenario wasn't weird I would have my wife make cookies for Abel's birthday party, take Afton to the toy store to pick a present for her brother, call the young women who are part of my talk on Sunday to remind them and help them with their part, keep up with the neat ideas rolling around in my head for my blog, update my family website, pick up Patrick's car from the mechanic so I can have my own car back and pay bills. This would free up some time for me to write my talk for Sunday, prepare my lesson for Sunday, give more time to helping the young women who are having life crisis', make cupcakes for Abel's family party, make the gift tee's for Abel's "B is for boy" party and manage the crazy mess in the kids room from two nights of not picking up.

I don't know just how I got so insanely busy this week. Last week I was basking in the relaxation of having a grandparent here. I should have taken time then to go get the knuckle on the index finger on my left hand popped back into place (I smacked my hand into a wall 2 months ago and it still kills me). Of course, all this craziness has to happen the week Patrick has a huge deadline and the week his car is in the shop (though I am thankful the clutch really wasn't bad, just a hose popped out of place).

I guess, I don't really need a wife. Just a husband. And a car. And maybe a part-time house keeper...that hallway closet is getting out of control! And maybe take out for dinner.

sounds like a crazy week. you forgot to add a friend to the list- to take yoru kids for a little breather (?). Those come in handy when husband is on LOA (i.e. in school).

Hang in there it will be easier soon! Jenni used to tell me it's okay to skip some things you normally wouldn't while it's a hard day with the daddy in school- that was my fav advice (not that you are seeking it) while mike was in school. You can do it!
