I've been on the lookout for the perfect calendar. I want something smaller than desk size but bigger than wall size, monthly style with no photos. A fun design would be great or even solid color blocks for each day. No luck yet, so I'm sticking with the freebie from some image business Patrick brought home for me...at least until June when the naked lady picture shows up.
Until I find my soul calendar, I'm making weekly planner for my life. Meals. Things I need to do, broken down into categories. And the newest my Afton planner. I decided I needed to schedule the things I wanted to be working with Afton on so here is how it works:
Monday: Art/Craft Day: glitter snowflakes
Tuesday: Math: math and numbers workbook
Wednesday: Science/Kitchen: make soft pretzels
Thursday: Reading: use Starfall together
Friday: New Day: Learn a NEW way to play Afton's I SPY game
Afton is super excited each day to find out what she and I get to do together. So far, Math has been her favorite. She has been giving me math problems to figure out all week! I take some time out on Sunday and plan these activities and fell a bit less mommy stress having these items on the calender. Too bad they aren't written on my dream calendar!

love the routine each week. i try to make lists of ideas to fill the day so if I find we aren't doing anything and bored, I can check my grand list of fun stuff to do. great ideas
