Patrick and I chaperoned the Stake Dance this weekend. Just in case you're wondering:
1. there's still the couple who swing dances no matter what the music is
2. a couple showed up to chaperone, with their baby and stroller
3. we still did the electric slide and YMCA (when will that stop?)
4. the dance circle is still in full force packed with moonwalks, not so good breakdancing and very unsocial dance moves
5. a newly turned 14-year old showed up with his parents, and two stuffed animals
6. the DJ played music no one would ever dance to (you cannot dance to fall out boy)
7. primary music was played for birthdays and newcomers
8. we danced. and loved it. our social life is limited so we embraced every weird minute of it.

#1 made me laugh. I wish I was there with you guys, we could have started a mosh pit.
do kids anywhere even do that anymore?
The words "Stake Dance" just make me laugh...oh the memories...thank goodness no one brought cameras to those things :)
Reading through your list brought back many fond and silly memories of Stake Dances. Thanks for the laugh Liz.
there was an attempt at a mosh pit...
One of the ladies I work with does that dance at F. Meyer during free time(whatever that is). When I am by myself cleaning the kitchen I find myself doing line dancing. Gives me a little more getup and go
oh the memories....church dances ---you should talk to Kelly Shakespeare about our experiences - ask her about our game?
Cringe.
So funny. I'm glad I'm not a youth anymore.
