i've got a house full of sickies. patrick's feverish, abel has a cough and an attack of hives keeps attacking afton. with all this caring for others, i've had to find quick fixes of tlc for myself. most are food related:
1. my drink: 3/4 diet coke, 1/4 cherry coke from the fountain. this is a special treat now that i've kicked the habit.
2. a chocolate glazed doughnut. i saw this when getting my drink during my first 15 minutes of alone time in 4 days, and it made me feel so happy.
3. a really great book. this week: Garlic and Sapphires. it's about really good food.
4. french toast, pancakes and smoothies. anything besides cereal.
5. cherries. they are so expensive but one of the only fruits that replaces a sweet sufficiently.
when everyone is healed, i think i've earned a day of real soothing: shopping alone.
what's your quick comfort fix?

"first 15 minutes alone in 4 days" made me laugh. that sucks. yea i am SO looking forward my day doubling with work when a #2 comes to town.
I used to get a huge awesome brownie at the bakery at stop n shop. never had a better one in my life. even had sprinkles on it.
I need a new, local vice. The mini m&ms have failed me today!
Alone time? What is that?
I used to bake until the thermostat got above 80 degrees. Now I just get online and mindlessly google search and read blogs. My life is sooooo boring. I'd give anything for a cold diet coke right now.
diet dr. pepper isn't such a 'treat' for me since i have a few daily, but it still feels like a treat. it can turn my mood around.
seeing that my hubby gets back into town tomorrow after his 18 days away, i would really like 15 minutes alone. that'd be nice. i don't even know what i'd do! maybe scrapbook. or something creative. or just catch up on all the blogs that i missed reading while i was in RI this week. so many options, how could i choose?
Depends on the day but generally either cuddling under a big softy blanket and taking a nap or peaches n' cream. Simple comforts I suppose...
Reading. I love to read.
