good listening

patrick keeps me updated on new great music (except kid and country..those two are mine). he makes playlists for me, with new great bands, DJ's and remixes. i love music, but don't like the process of finding new stuff. and, i don't buy cd's. ever. if i was in charge of our family music here is what iTunes would look like:

1. cher. i love her. a lot. (in fact the last cd i bought was her greatest hits "If I could turn back time..." you know you love that song!)
2. fleetwood mac. the greatest band ever
3. janet jackson. awesome workout music
4. lots of country tunes. the real twangy stuff. i had a 3 year fast in NY land i'm hungry!
5. rainforest and beach sounds. a musical vacation
6. no doubt/gwen stefani. i do like something from the last 10 years.
7. baby einstein soundtracks. the videos are weird, the music great.
8. cat stevens.
9. broadway soundtracks (love guys and dolls)
10. lillith fair on a good year.

i always shy away from the intense top ten bands discussions because my list is slightly embarrassing. feel free to comment about yours here. i won't judge you as long as you don't make fun of my love of cher.

mine would be pretty embarrassing too.

my fav is dixie chicks. i don't care what political stuff they say, i still love them. and i kind of agree with them on the whole george bush thing.

but, anyway, the embarrassing favorite cds are: the judds, les miserables, newsies, amy grant.

but i also like pinback, indigo girls, alison krauss, the i am sam soundtrack, etc.

Allison Krauss is definitely a favorite. My music tastes are all from the before kids era!
