bumpity bump

For the last 8 weeks Afton has been breaking out in hives. After trying lots of things to narrow down the source, it turns out plastic is the cause. Here's my running list of things Afton can't touch without a pre-Claritin dose, and things we've eliminated:

1. plastic booster seat
2. playgrounds
3. shopping carts
4. plastic chairs
5. indoor play places
6. clothing with plastic (elastic) waistbands

Afton is now a hive expert and notifies me as soon as any appear. Thank goodness the place I grocery shop has miniature shopping carts to keep Afton entertained. I'm an expert on non- elastic and fabric wrapped undies now.

Can you solve my mysterious rash? Yes, it's back. You should tell Kelly. Sam's been breaking out in hives, too.

it was a long process figuring it out. i didn't want to get her tested so i had to do it myself with phone chats to the ped. i noticed she was regularly getting hives when she ate, so i thought it might be a fruit allergy so i let her eat picnic style for a few days then one day at a play place they popped up again and so i realized the cause...i verified it with the ped and she says it's not all that uncommon.

toys are fine as long as they are clean.

lindsey- that's sucks about your rash. i'll email you a link though.

Poor Afton. Do the hives hurt?

sometimes they itch but usually the sight of 'em is the worst part
