Battlefield

Choose your battles, right?

Two battles I've been fighting lately. One I lost. One I still fight and win, most days.

Afton will take naps until she goes to kindergarten, whether or not she wants to! I just need down time mid-day to recollent myself, accomplish a few things without a tag-along and maybe even take a nap myself. Afton doesn't like taking naps- or going to bed for that matter- and is constantly coming up with new, creative excuses on why she shouldn't. Most times she says "Mommy, I'm just awake." She's a common sense kinda girl. Here's a snap shot of just how awake she was 10 minutes after the statement.

Patrick has a phobia of hair salons. Since we have been married, he has NEVER been happy with a haircut he got at a salon, barbershop, bargain or...well my phobia is paying more than $30 for a hairbut so he's not tried the expensive places yet! When we moved to Richmond, Patrick swore he was not going to cut his hair. Patrick has said this after every haircut he has had for 7 years so I rolled my eyes and said yeah right. Well, after many months of hinting (it was on my xmas list), encouraging, begging and mild threats I have conceeded. And I'm glad I lost this battle because after the weird-you-look-like-you're-trying-to-hide-something phase his hair looks so great (and sexy might I add). Still, I think it's time for a tiny trim..please honey!

I gave up on having naps for Pria...it just doesn't work. I really wish that she would take them....those 2 hours were a life saver most days. But ooh well, I still win the battle of no chocolate for dinner. If only Chris could win it as well :D
